A Hospital client had a very interesting problem: both of their operating rooms’ AHU’s were running at 100% –– but both ORs were failing on ACH and pressurization.
The solution was to reprogram the VAVs for accurate measurement of airflow. This was accomplished by using DP sensors in the VAV controller and having 2 points of calibration in the system.
All software and hardware issues were solved, since the airflow reading on the BMS was now precise. The AHUs also were slowed by 20-30%, thus reducing the energy consumption on AHU-1 by 18% and AHU-2 by 25%.
